Disability Awareness Training Along with our partner organisations in Cumbria Disability Network DaCE is committed to promoting greater disability awareness in our community. We can provide advice about a wide range of access matters, and, with partner organisations, put together packages of disability awareness training to suit any need. We have recently run training programmes for Cumbria Constabulary, Cumbria Fire Service, Capita and the Environment Agency. Access Advice For anyone concerned about access issues, whether physical access to buildings or ensuring disabled people can access their services we can provide advice and guidance. Contact our office for details. Payroll Service As a spin off from our work with Direct Payments users DaCE now offers a payroll service for disabled people who wish to employ their own personal assistants. Call the office for details of our charges. Lynne Leeson and Margaret Batie (pictured below) run our payroll service and will be happy to help with any queries. Criminal Records Checks DaCE is registered as an umbrella organisation with CRB and now processes Criminal Records checks for a large number of individuals and organisations. We charge £6 as an administration fee which is added to the fee charged by CRB which currently range from free for a volunteer (DaCE will charge £6) to £35 (£41 with our fee). Viv Jobson (above) can provide information about our criminal records checking service. Debt Advice DaCE has a Debt Adviser, Annette Browning, based in the Centre for Independent Living at Port Road.
